Sonja Walch is presenting on "Searching for Tropical Plants: Botanical Exploration in the Southeast Asian Islands, 1930–1960" at the DGGMNT's conference "Praktisches Wissen" in Berlin, 25 September 2015.


June, 2015:

Carola Sachse and Sonja Walch are holding a panel on "Mastering Their Own Careers. Professional Experiences of Female Natural and Social Scientists in East/Central Europe and in Overseas Exile (1900–1970)" at the DHST's conference "Gendering Science: Women and Men Producing Knowledge", Prag 4–6 June 2015.


May, 2015:

Sonja Walch is presenting on "Tropisches Sammeln: Koloniale und nationale Botaniken auf den pazifischen Inseln, 1946–1960" at the LMU, Oberseminar "Perspektiven der Wissenschaftsgeschichte", Munich 21 May 2015.


March, 2015:

Sonja Walch is instructor at the Munich Spring School "Plants, Power, and Politics", 25 – 29 March 2015.


August – November, 2014:

Sonja Walch currently holds a postdoctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution Archives and the National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.. The stay is also financed by a grant of the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies.
